The best way to go is probably to call a pro, but make sure you call either a comapany that does the "Dry Foam Extraction System", or the bonnet(chem-Dry) version of cleaning. They can do it in your home and at a fraction of the cost of steam cleaners, who will want to take it out of the home and deliver it back to it.. If it is not that bad, you can also clean it yourself as was suggested by others.

I would take that to a dry cleaner to be on the safe side. Does it have a tag with washing instructions? It should. I definitely wouldn’t try to do it on your own though.

If the rug were smaller you could cold wash it with woolite in a washing machine. The problem with a rug that size is it is going to weigh too much for a regular washing machine. I would normally lay it flat for drying also. That would mean drying outside and turning it over and lots of sunshine.

They might have larger washers at the laundromat. But you would still have the drying problem.

I guess since it is winter I would try to clean it by hand with Resolve High Traffic Area cleaner. Or a carpet machine or dry cleaning.

Are you just needing to spot clean it or does the whole rug need cleaning? If it’s the whole rug it might be best to take it to a dry cleaners or have it professionally cleaned by a carpet cleaner. If it’s just a spot clean then try Resolve or any other industrial carpet cleaner. Be sure to read the back of the can to make sure it’s safe for use on Chenille.
